2010 Seniors Put The Final Stamp on Their Careers

Four seasons, 122 matches, and millions of memories later, we never thought the end would come so soon. We walked in as shy, timid, freshman not knowing what to expect or what the impact of being a Defiance College volleyball player would ultimately be. To try to explain what this program and team has met to the four of us is near impossible but we will try to give you a short snapshot of what it has meant to us.

Julie: Being a part of this team has taught me the true meaning of dedication, and has given me the opportunity to make many friendships that will last forever.

Sara: Throughout the four years here at Defiance, being a Defiance College volleyball player has helped me identify my strengths and weaknesses as well as setting me on a path for my future career.

Heather: I have learned that Defiance College volleyball is about family and hard work. No matter who comes on the team each year, we are always a family through the good or bad, pushing each other for more.

Kelsey: This team molded me into a leader and taught me a lot about the game, others, and myself. It will be something I never forget.

These four years have given us many memories that we will never forget. From traveling to Chicago, to Toronto, to California, Defiance College volleyball is more than just becoming a great volleyball player. There is no way we would ever want to give back all the memories traveling to games on buses, dancing in the locker room, or the overall feeling of being a part of something bigger than yourself.

If the four of us could give any advice to future and current Defiance College volleyball players is to cherish the good and learn from the bad. Do not take anything for granted, you are part of something special that you are lucky to be a part of. Each time you step on the court know that you have a chance to make a difference with each play, have no regrets, you only get four years. Remember you are a part of a team, a family, working towards a common goal that only can be reached by every player on the team, whether they are on the court or off.

We hope that we have left our mark on Defiance College Volleyball, because Defiance College Volleyball has surely left its mark on each of us.
